ECONOMIC CANOLA RESEARCH
During the fall of 2003, the SCGA began receiving complaints from its membership over wide basis levels $45 to $50 under the futures as compared to normal levels of $20 to $30 under futures. The Saskatchewan Canola Growers Association, secured funding from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and hired consultants John DePape Ltd.(John DePape) and Serecon Management Consulting Inc. (Karen Paul) to conduct a study of the causes and possible solutions to the basis problem.

This study is being done in two phases. This report is the result of Phase I completed, March 31, 2007.
